Posted February 11, 2025

The Vero Beach Museum of Art offers art lovers an entirely refreshed experience. As of February 10, new exhibitions are on view in each of the Museum’s four interior galleries, including two original exhibitions by Chief Curator Caitlin Swindell.

In the Holmes Gallery is the visiting French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850–1950, on view through June 22. The internationally touring exhibition features 59 paintings and sculptures from the Brooklyn Museum’s esteemed collection of European art, showcasing some of the most renowned names in Modern Art—Pierre Bonnard, Gustave Caillebotte, Paul Cézanne, Marc Chagall, Jean-Baptiste-Camille Corot, Gustave Courbet, Edgar Degas, Édouard Manet, Henri Matisse, Claude Monet, Berthe Morisot, Gabriele Münter, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Auguste Rodin, and others. French Moderns: Monet to Matisse, 1850–1950, is organized by the Brooklyn Museum.

In the Stark Gallery is Timeless: Robert Farber’s Fashion Photography. This original exhibition curated by Chief Curator Caitlin Swindell, brings together two of Farber’s fashion-related series: “Vintage Fashion,” primarily drawn from his commercial work, and “Deterioration,” a series of fashion photographs transformed by the natural aging of their film transparencies, for the first time in a museum exhibition. The exhibition offers a unique perspective on the intersection of Farber’s artistic and commercial work, exploring the lasting impact of his contributions to the world of fashion photography. The exhibition is on view through August 31.

Spanning both the Schumann Gallery and Titelman Gallery is Well-Dressed: Artworks from the Permanent Collection. This exhibition features 35 works from the VBMA’s permanent collection, created between the 1870s and 2021, showcasing the lasting impact of clothing in art. Well-Dressed explores the connections between fashion, identity, performance, and self-expression, including familiar favorites and pieces that have never been displayed at the VBMA. Together, these artworks invite reflection on how clothing communicates personal, social, and cultural stories, and how it plays a vital role in artists’ portrayals of identity. Well-Dressed is curated by VBMA Chief Curator Caitlin Swindell and is on view through September 14.
