Wyeth (2018)

This documentary tells the story of one of America’s most popular, but least understood, artists – Andrew Wyeth – through unprecedented access to Wyeth’s family members, including sons Jamie and Nicholas Wyeth, and never-before-seen archival materials from the family’s personal collection and hundreds of Wyeth’s studies, drawings and paintings.

Stream on Amazon Prime and PBS Passport.

As we watched this film, we gained a new appreciation for Wyeth’s The Wales Farm (1967) and Melting Ice on the Brandywine (1948) in our collection. In what ways does the film let you see these painting with new eyes?

Give us your thoughts on the film and any connections you made to the VBMA collections in the comments. #VBMAFlickPicks #VBMA #MuseumAtHome #ArtCanHelp
