The Athena Society, established in 2003, funds and selects significant art acquisitions for the Museum’s permanent collection. Currently at 140 member households, the Athena Society meets three times each year in addition to participating in special travel opportunities. The Society meets in the fall and winter to enjoy a lecture and discussion with an expert in American art, while enjoying cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. In April, members gather at the Museum for an exclusive dinner and vote on the work they would like to collectively acquire for the Museum’s collection.
Athena Society membership dues are $5,000 annually ($4,750 is tax-deductible). Museum membership at the Chairman’s Club level or higher is required.
