From Paintings to Video: Highlights from the Permanent Collection

HOLMES GALLERY

This exhibition showcases a selection of more than 40 works of art in a range of media from the Museum’s holdings of more than 900 objects. The Museum’s permanent collection focuses on American and international art from the twenty-first century to the present. The collection honors the generous donors and patrons who helped to build it over its twenty-nine year history.

Many artists are on view, including Alex Katz’s, 1974 serigraph Swimmer, César Martinez’s colorful painting Bato Verde (1982); Florida artists Luis Montoya’s and Leslie Ortiz’s bronze sculpture Surprise Box (2000); Sharon Quasius’s soft textile relief Watson and the Shark (1982); and Jennifer Steinkamp’s, video installation, Fly to Mars 5 (2005), that dramatically cycles through four seasons.

This exhibition is on view in the Museum’s Holmes Gallery until September 20th, 2015.
